Michael Julian and Norman Welsh
kevinolzak19 August 2016
"The Soldier" begins with the court martial for treason of Lt. Louie De Grasse (Michael Julian, first of three), the ruling from Col. Frasier (Norman Welsh, last of two) the only one due to the evidence, despite misgivings of Major Moncrief (Charles Jarrott, last of two). Hawkeye learns that 50 breech loading rifles have been stolen, the Lieutenant found guilty of stealing the plans, and Tuscarawa Chief Tewan (Juan Root, second of eight) already in possession of the guns, ready to make war on the white man. Fortunately, Hawkeye and Chingachgook locate the hidden rifles, before calling upon Col. Frasier for a peace council with Tewan, who soon finds that his guns cannot shoot at any white enemy. Few surprises but like most a watchable episode, the second for future television Dracula Norman Welsh (his final television appearance in 1973).
