"Washington Story" casts Rodney Bunker (third of five) as George Washington, here a simple surveyor in the employ of Sandi Lee (Dawn Lesley), who plans to build a colony on her property despite interference from squatters led by trapper Tim Grogan (William Walsh, sixth of nine). Hawkeye advises Sandi Lee to seek refuge at the settlement of Calhoun Brent (Ben Lennick, last of three) while Washington completes his survey of the territory. What they don't know is that Brent is behind the scheme, assisted by Chris Gaunt (an unbilled John Paris, fourth of five), which Hawkeye learns from tight lipped gunsmith Tobias Hanford (Hugh Watson, fifth of six). Leading the colonists for Sandi Lee is Turner (Larry D. Mann, second of three), who helps set a trap for the wicked Brent. It's rather a shame that the inclusion of George Washington had so little bearing on the story, a sadly inconsequential character in the end.
