Seemingly in a takeoff of The Miracle Worker, we are given Bobby Sherman as Miss Sullivan and Mitch Vogel, still aspiring some breakout impression as a gifted actor in the Patty Duke role, tho here he is merely deaf. The episode begins with Mills Watson tormenting Vogel as some sort of sideshow exhibit, then Bobby Sherman steps in and takes over. Seems Sherman had a stuttering problem as a child and can relate.
Doesn't appear to be much of David Soul or the brides for that matter in this "very special, touching, heartwarming episode".
I've seen Yours Mine and Ours and can't say that I recall Vogel of all those kids, but I can't help but notice in many of his western appearances, Reivers included, he seems to be wearing the same button up purple print shirt. I guess it contrasts well with his hair?
Much like Gunsmoke's Wild Child, the kid is sufficiently dismissed at the end of the episode. Just as well, I guess. That's what makes it a special guest-star.
