Typical "Here Come the Brides." When Indians try to buy some brides, Joshuea refuses. So they come in and kidnap the gals in the middle of the night - completely unbelievable scene. There is some sense of danger, but not high drama or angst.I would have preferred more fear; the Indians were painted as kind, even while kidnapping women.
More lighthearted than it could have been. Jason is certainly a "RainMaker" type. Joshua - virtually no lines at all, per usual. Jeremy - the one to identify with because his girlfriend was one of those kidnapped. Biddie - comic relief. Candy - the damsel in distress who does not fall into the crying, weeping, weak cliché but is strong and hopeful. The best thing about Here Come the Brides is Bridget Hanley. I was also much more impressed with Stemples acting then when it first ran, along with Lottie (Joan Blondell) and Clancy.
