I know its in a good cause, but...

Warning: Spoilers
Another episode from the classic children's comedy series.

Albert is trying to win a competition in which the prize is a guide dog for the blind. To do this he needs to amass a vast quantity of silver paper. Being a road sweeper, you'd think the stuff would be pretty easy to come by, but not for him. In the grand tradition of the motion pictures of Sir Clifford Richard, the Double Deckers decide to 'do the show right here' - a zany, quick fire revue in which the entrance fee is a ball of silver paper...

I hate this episode because I hate anything that's 'in a good cause'. Each year the B.B.C. inflicts 'Children In Need' and other telethons on us, and I have to spend the whole evening watching D.V.D.'s. Well intentioned though these celebrity-infested jamborees are, for me they are as much fun as having teeth drilled without anaesthetic. 'The Ha-Ha Show' is clearly modelled on the U.S. import 'Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In' and is about as painful ( corny jokes interspersed with inane catchphrases ). How on Earth did they manage to do those kaleidoscopic effects on stage? If I'd been in the audience, I'd have snatched back my silver paper and sued the Deckers for brain damage. The annoying thing is - there is no need for a show. All they had to do was ask Doughnut for his old chocolate bar wrappers.

Anyway, the show is a success and they get their guide dog. Good.

Funniest moment - the end credits because then you know the thing's over.
