Lucy's in the hospital with a broken leg, and when her visitors dwindle, a lonely Lucy starts trying to gain the attention of a friendly doctor.
This is only a so-so episode but the season gets better as it goes along. There is a clever opening scene that utilizes Lucille Ball's home movies of her skiing and then a quick edit takes us to her hospital room.
Lucy and Gale Gordon have aged noticeably during the hiatus between seasons. Lucie Arnaz, Mary Jane Croft and even Vanda Barra receive applause when they enter the scene. This group will become somewhat of an ensemble this season, bringing more cohesiveness to the show at last.
Lloyd Bridges as a guest star must have seemed like a coup at the time, but his character is dull. He and Alan Oppenheimer perform "Dem Bones" but it was better when Lucy did that on THE LUCY SHOW. This is another episode where someone gets diagnosed with a ridiculous fake disease. Here, Lucy gets "Yoyo-itis". Come on!!
Funniest part is the "Umm-hmm" lady in the next bed.
