As a rule The Wainthropp Detective Agency does not touch drugs, but when a family member is involved, Hetty makes an exception. The son of Hetty's niece, Tom is found to have an ecstasy pill in his pocket at School, she goes undercover in a bid to clear his name.
There are no lengths Hetty won't go to in order to get justice, and sort out whatever wrong has happened. It's a good episode, people talk about drugs at School being a big problem now, it was over twenty years ago.
I did find it hard to believe in Geoffrey as a school boy, that did perhaps stretch the imagination a little too far. He had some fun scenes, particularly getting lunch of Hetty. The best scene being where the miscreant suffers a well deserved accident.
It's a fairly early role for Siobhan Finneran, who by now had been acting about seven years, not long until she would start getting big TV roles, one of the best of British.
Pretty good. 7/10
