Audition for spinoff

But Elizabeth Gracen had the inside track. Still, this was a good effort for the character of Alex.

Decent story with not so obvious conclusion.

Immortal Alex Raven was impressive.

Warning: Spoilers
1. In season six of Highlander we are introduced to several female immortals, characters who were being considered for the lead role in the Highlander spin-off, "Highlander The Raven". 2. In this episode we see Canadian actress and model Dara Tomanovich as Alex Raven, a beautiful immortal with a great head of hair. She teams up with Duncan to solve a murder mystery and to return millions in stolen money to some deserving people. 2. So that we can get to know Alex we are treated to no less than three flashbacks into her life. Two from 1942 Warsaw when her mortal Jewish love is killed by Nazis, and one from an unspecified time and place when she loved another mortal named Cameron. Alex refuses his proposal of marriage because she is an immortal and she feels that it would not go well. Yes we've seen examples of relationships between immortals and mortals and many of those unions had a tragic ending. Strangely though, with very little prompting, Alex proceeds to tell Cameron her most carefully guarded secret, about her long life as an immortal. I did love the gestures she made, and the sound of her voice as she dramatically says to him, "I am immortal". 3. Cameron hardly has time to think about what Alex has told him when suddenly a jealous and angry immortal from Alex's past shows up. Gerard Leblanc comes through some trees swinging his sword and quickly puts and end to Cameron. Alex disarms Leblanc, gives chase on horseback and takes his head with his own sword. 4. This is the time and place that Duncan first meets Alex as he witnesses her vengeance. 5. Duncan demonstrates some impressive burglar skills as he opens a safe with ease, no doubt something he learned from a certain 1200 year old thief. In addition to looking great on her motorcycle in this story, Alex chases a suspect and makes an eye popping jump from a third floor window of a hotel. Here I wonder, it's surprising that she doesn't break a leg or anything. Just because you're immortal doesn't mean that you are indestructible, but I digress. 6. Duncan and Alex use their knowledge of classic literature (German literature here) to help solve the mystery of the stolen money. They have a couple of great conversations before Alex walks away. We Highlander fans never see her again, and I hate that. I liked that character very much.
