The Trojan Horse is a story from the Trojan War (12th century, B.C.) between Greeks and the city-state of Troy. After a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks at the behest of Odysseus, constructed a large wooden horse and left it at the gates of Troy and pretended to sail away, but hid inside the horse instead. The Trojans brought the horse inside the city as a war trophy, thinking they had won the war. Later, the Greeks crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, who entered and destroyed the city.
