On the money episode
Woodyanders24 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Mayo (solid Mimi Kuzyk) and Garibaldi (the equally good Ken Olin) are assigned to keep an eye on arrogant and unrependant murderer Floyd Green (a chilling portrayal by Forest Whitaker) by Furillo (the always terrific Daniel J. Travanti). Belker (essayed with growly gusto by Bruce Weitz) flies to Vegas to pick up a prisoner. Hill (a fine Michael Warren) has money problems. Bates (top work by Betty Thomas) is worried about juvenile shoplifter Fabian (nicely played by Zero Hubbard).

The storyline concerning Green proves to be quite gripping and suspenseful; it culminates in an exciting courtroom shootout in which Green is accidentally killed when he gets caught in the crossfire. The plot with Bates asking for custody of Fabian gives this particular episode a considerable amount of poignancy. Moreover, it's a hoot to watch LaRue (a spot-on smary Kilel Martin) and Washington (super smooth Taurean Blacque) hustle their way into some cheap plane tickets so they can tag along with Belker. Reni Santoni shines as hard-nosed lawyer John Pescator while Michael Ensign has a neat small role as an unsympathetic IRS investigator.

Ramped Up Episode
Hitchcoc22 July 2021
We get to see a very young Forest Whittaker as a psychotic youth, just out of juvie, swearing revenge on people who testified against him. He is watched constantly in hopes he will do something to get put back in. LaRue gets his hands on some cheap airline tickets to Vegas where Belker is headed to pick up a suspect. J. D. Has hoped to profit by selling them to his cohorts. Bobby pays the piper for his tax shenanigans. The most moving story is a boy, Fabian, who lives with his sister. There is no mother present. HIs other sister is dead. He develops a relationship with Lucy Bates who looks out for him. Their connection is realistic and very touching.
