A gypsy puts a curse on Renko (an amusing turn by Charles Haid). LaRue (an excellent Kiel Martin) thinks he's hit the jackpot after he arrests a guy (a memorably nutty Jack Dengal) who admits to committing multiple murders. Tina (strong work by Megan Gallagher) goes undercover to bust mobster Donatelli (smoothly played by Joey Aresco).
Poor Tina really gets put through the ringer in this episode: Besides having to deal with fellow officers who don't respect her for messing up an earlier bust, she also winds up being assaulted by Donatelli. Belker (a fine Bruce Weitz) proves once again that he's a fundamentally decent man by comforting Tina and telling her undercover work is very tough to do. It's also nice to see a rejuvenated Jablonski (sturdy Robert Prosky) help Belker bust a guy who's holding up a bus. Hunter (solid James Sikking) shows some compassion as well over the death of Sanders. And one has to feel bad for a humiliated Calletano (a touching portrayal by Rene Enriquez) who feels compelled to quit his new job that he considers to be demeaning.
