- TriviaThe elaborate means by which the prisoners trick the German spy into revealing the source on the British War Council, i.e., convincing him that he has been transported to Berlin to meet Hitler, is reminiscent of Mission: Impossible (1966), a television series also running on CBS and produced on the Desilu lot.
- GoofsAt the meeting in the hotel room, Hogan plays the part of Strasser. Herr Schneer indicates that Strasser lost the tip of one of his thumbs during a hunting accident. Strasser's right thumb was quite visible during his interaction with Klink in Klink's office, and did not look like the tip had been lost. Later, as Strasser exits the cooler to get on the truck (with Hogan playing Mayerink), his left thumb is visible as he walks through the outer gate. As Strasser is about to get into the truck, Hogan asks which thumb was injured, and Strasser indicates it was his left. While Strasser and Hogan are in the truck drinking coffee, the tip of Strasser's left thumb is visible, but does not look like it is missing. It is possible that the fingertip was surgically repaired, but the techniques for doing so were not widely published until 1947 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and there is no indication that it was a recent hunting accident.

Major Martin: [in disbelief] You're an American.
Col. Robert E. Hogan: Someone around here has to be.
Featured review
This is a leak in the Allied High Command.
The episode begins when an Allied aircraft loses power and had to land in a field. The airmen are brought to Stalag 13 where they are incarcerated.
Lt. Miller tells Hogan that they were able to land thanks to Captain Martin's actions. The entire crew owes their life to his quick emergency decisions. But when they find out that Captain Martin is in Klink's office, Hogan wants to listen in. What they learn is that Captain Martin is really Hans Strausser, an agent of Germany. He has some vital information that needs to be relayed to the German High Command. Strausser has plans of the next Allied offensive. He could have only got that information from someone leaking information from the Allied command. Hogan has to find out who, in the top Allied brass, is leaking the information to the Germans.
This episode held the viewer's attention from the beginning to the end. There was no time to get bored since we go from one scene to another- in order to get this entertaining tale completed before the time allotment ends. As we are half-way through the final season, things should be dropping off. But actually it seems the shows are getting better. This is one of those better shows.
