- Posing as German officers, the Heroes try to get a German spy to disclose with whom he was working.
- A pair of airmen are brought to Stalag 13 after their aircraft had crash-landed nearby. Lieutenant Miller is brought directly to Colonel Hogan and immediately authenticates himself. Meanwhile, Major Martin is taken directly to Commandant Klink's office. As the Heroes listen in on the coffee pot receiver the Major makes it clear that he is a German spy and has top secret information regarding a planned Allied offensive that must be delivered to his contacts in Hammelburg today. Whilst Martin is washing-up, Hogan and Miller convince Colonel Klink that the spy story is a complete fabrication intended to provide an opportunity to escape. Klink sends the now bewildered Major to the cooler. After viewing the papers intended for delivery to German Command, Hogan decides that he will meet with Martin's contacts in order to deliver false information and primarily to ascertain where the data originated. The extremely sensitive nature of the documents suggest involvement at exceptionally prominent levels within Allied Command. Although successful at planting the bogus info, he learned that only Martin, and in the presence of his superior, could divulge the source. Identifying this traitor is now ultra top priority.—Harry Tumilson
- At the start, the men are outside in the compound hanging laundry. A truck comes in with new prisoners. Schultz introduces Lieutenant. J. B. Miller. Hogan asks what outfit he is with; Miller says the 504th Bomb Group, Lt. Colonel Pruitt is the group commander. He then gives the code of the day. Schultz says that he just dropped in. Their navigator, Major Martin, is in Klink's office.
Major Martin, actually Hans Strasser, is in Klink's office, making a phone call. He says that he has details of a major allied offensive. Strasser says that he will meet at the Templehof Hotel at 9:00. After hanging up, he tells Klink that he cut the fuel lines, and directed the plane to a field that he pre-selected. Strasser gives Klink a phone number for verification. Klink says that he doesn't need to, and he believes the story. Strasser wants to wash up; Klink says that he can use his quarters. Strasser asks for a car, and goes to wash up. Klink calls the motor-pool, asking them to send a car. Hogan brings Miller to Klink's office. Miller says that he is Strasser. Hogan eventually convinces Klink that Strasser is phony. Klink calls the number Strasser gave him, 569-322. Baker intercepts the call, and gives it to Newkirk. He answers the phone as Shimmel's Bakery. There is some back discussion between Newkirk as Shimmel and Carter in a high voice as his daughter. Strasser comes out of the back room, and Klink tells him that he is on to him, and that he is not Strasser. He called the number Strasser gave him, and he got a bakery. He is going to send Strasser to the cooler.
Hogan comes out of Klink's office and tells Schultz that Klink wants to see him. Schultz says that Klink has not told him, and asks Hogan how he knows that Klink wants to see Schultz before Schultz knows that Klink wants to see Schultz. Klink then calls Schultz, and has Strasser put into the cooler.
In the barracks, Hogan tells the men that he is going to the meeting as Strasser, and Carter will go with him to take pictures of the others that are there. Hogan and Carter go to the hotel room, and Hogan introduces them; Herr Meyerink answers the door, and introduces the others in the room, Fraulein Kissinger and Herr Sneer. Meyerink asks Hogan (thinking he is Strasser) which thumb he lost in a hunting accident. Hogan holds up both thumbs, and says that thanks to fine German surgery, you can't tell. Hogan tells Sneer that the attack will come from the southern sector; Sneer says that they have seen no activity in that sector. Meyerink Leaves to make a call. Hogan takes Fraulein Kissinger's hand and looks at her ring. He brings her closer to the lamp so Carter can take pictures. Hogan tells her that the diamond is an Amsterdam cut. Fraulein Kissinger then goes over to Sneer to show him the ring, and she brings Sneer to the light so he can look at the ring better; and Carter takes his picture also. Meyerink comes back into the room and says that 6 divisions are moving south. He then tells Strasser (Hogan) that a girlfriend of his, Fraulein Wessen, is in the hotel, and gives him the room key. Hogan says that he is too kind, but talks his way out of seeing her. He then asks Meyerink to tell Sneer who his contact is. Meyerink says that the contact is so highly placed that he does not know, and it can only be revealed in the presence of Herr Keppelmann.
Later, back at camp, Hogan tells the men that the agents he saw do not know who the secret contact is, but Strasser does. Hogan goes to the cooler to see Strasser/Martin, dressed in a Gestapo overcoat and pretending to be Meyerink. He tells Strasser that they are going to Berlin by truck. Strasser asks why not by air, and Hogan says that they do not want to get the Luftwaffe involved. Hogan takes Strasser to the truck, and asks him which thumb was injured in the hunting accident; Strasser says the left. They get in the truck, with LeBeau driving. Hogan also mentions Fraulein Wesson to Strasser/Martin, who is surprisingly happy at the prospect of seeing her again. They seem to be going down a bumpy road; actually, Newkirk, Carter, and Baker are rocking the truck with boards, simulating a bumpy road. LeBeau has doctored Strasser's coffee, and Strasser passes out.
Newkirk re-arranges Klink's office. Newkirk dresses up as Colonel Beyer, Gestapo; Carter dresses up as Hitler. Hogan takes Strasser into the front office; Hogan makes Strasser think they are going to meet Hitler. Newkirk greets them, and goes into the office marked 'Privat', and shouting is heard. Strasser asks where they are, and Hogan answers that they are in the 'summer place'. Newkirk comes out, acting nervous, and says that he is not happy with the information (he does not say who the 'he' was, but Hogan implies that it is Hitler). Newkirk acts nervous, takes some pills, and asks for proof; who is the highly-placed contact that he got it from. Hogan says that Strasser can not reveal the contact unless Herr Keppelmann is there. Newkirk says that 'he' will not be happy if Strasser can tell Keppelmann, but not 'him'. Newkirk goes back into the office, and there is more yelling. Schultz comes in, and Hogan hustles him back out. He tries to explain things to Schultz, and Schultz gives him 3 minutes. Hogan goes back in, and Strasser says that the guard that came in looked like the guard at STALAG 13. Hogan says that the guard at STALAG 13 looks like the guard here, Kurtz, Hitler's hit man; all the guards imitate Kurtz. Newkirk comes out, and again asks the name of the contact. Hogan won't let Strasser tell him. Schultz then comes in with 2 guards to take Strasser away. Strasser, fearing for his life, says that the contact is Undersecretary Medwin. as he is hauled out.
At the end. Schultz is with Hogan in the front office. Hogan tells Schultz that Strasser was re-arranging the furniture, and said that Hitler was in the other room. Carter, dressed as Hitler opens the door, and then closes it fast. The door at this point has Klink's nameplate on it. Schultz is open mouthed. Hogan tells Schultz that it looks like he has just seen a ghost.
