Baron Von Aukburg is throwing a party for a few friends and Klink is invited. But before he takes off Gerneal Burkhalter makes a visit and advises Klink that the Gestapo is watching the Baron and even expects that he is selling German secrets to the Allies. Now they want to know why Klink got an invitation to the party.
It happens that Hogan was suppose to go to the party as Klink but when he hears the news of the Gestapo on the trail, Hogan backs off and lets the real Klink attend. What Hogan was suppose to do is pick up some secret information in Klink's coat upon leaving. Now this means that Klink will unknowingly be carrying the information of all the Gestapo agents. Word has to get back to the Baron to cancel the party.
This was a strange episode since some of the story did not seem to make sense. I watched the unedited version and it still appears that a scene was left out of the broadcast. Perhaps it ran too long and had to be cut but --how did word got back to the Baron not to attend the party, was never explained. Nor was the scratch in Klink's monocle which was important near the end but was never explained how or why the monocle was damaged.
It still was an entertaining show but the story did not flow. When the show was edited for broadcast, something was left out. That something was important.
