- The Germans are sending Hogan to America demanding surrender along with another surprise.
- The war is over, so General von Rauscher informs Hogan in Klink's office. The General and his girlfriend Marya, previously Hogan's Russian co-conspirator and sometimes love interest, are at Stalag 13 to force Hogan to witness a demonstration of Germany's newest all-powerful weapon which can pinpoint and destroy any desired target. Once Hogan has observed the destructive capability that the Nazis now possess, he will be sent to the United States to convince the Allies that they must surrender, any further conflict is futile and will simply lead to massive losses on their part.—Harry Tumilson
- At the start, Marya, the White Russian, is in Klink's office with Klink and General von Raucher, who Marya calls 'Putzi'. Von Raucher has something in mind. Hogan, LeBeau, Kinchloe, and Newkirk are listening in on the coffee pot in Hogan's office. Carter comes in and says that Schultz is coming. Schultz comes in and tells Hogan that Klink wants to see him. Schultz tells Hogan that Marya is there and that she is in love with General von Raucher. He tells Hogan that he would rather be me (Schultz) than you (Hogan).
Hogan goes to Klink's office. It has been a while since Marya saw Hogan, and she is still fond of him. Von Raucher says that Hogan is 'adequate'. Von Raucher tells Hogan that he will be the one to tell the allies that the war is over. Klink repeats what von Raucher said; von Raucher is agitated at Klink, and says that Klink is an interpreter, with the rank of full corporal. Von Raucher says that Hogan will witness a new rocket, then after that go back to the United States and say what he saw. Von Raucher tells Klink that he will go along to the rocket site as security for Hogan. Von Raucher says that Marya has hinted to him that Hogan's role in the war is not 'passive', even though he is in a prisoner of war camp. He says that by re-assigning Hogan, he will be killing 2 birds with one stone.
Back in the barracks, Schultz comes to get Hogan. When leaving, he asks Hogan who won the war. Hogan says that it is still up for grabs. Schultz says that he is bi-partisan.
Von Raucher takes Hogan to the rocket, set up at a launching site nearby. It looks like a V2 on the outside, but not on the inside. Dr. Igor Zagorskin is working on the inside, meaning the guidance system. He tells Hogan that the new rocket will be able to hit a moving target. He tells Hogan and the others who are there that the demonstration is tomorrow at midnight. The battleship Duke Of York is on patrol in the North Sea; they do not know where, and they do not need to know where the ship is. The new rocket will find the ship by itself. After the battleship disappears, Hogan will tell them what happened, and the allies will sue for peace. Hogan is flabbergasted at losing 3000 men without a trace. After some more talking, Major Hochstetter and 6 Gestapo guards march up to the rocket. Hochstetter says that now he is responsible for security. Von Raucher and Hochstetter have an argument on the security topic. Hochstetter gets mad and says that anyone within 100 yards of the rocket will be shot and re-shot.
Later, back at camp, Hogan and Marya are talking, Hogan thinks Marya told von Raucher about their operation. Marya does not say yes, but does not say no either. Hogan asks Marya what to do about the rocket; Marya wants to get Zagorskin back to Russia. There is a knock on the door; Marya embraces and kisses Hogan, Klink comes in; Marya says that it is a Gestapo interrogation. Hogan and Marya go into the dining room, and meet Zagorskin who is eating and moderately drunk. Hogan asks what happens when the rocket goes up. Zagorskin says that he has a theory, and wanted to see if it would work. Zagorskin says that the rocket will not wipe out the battleship; the rocket will rise, fly out of sight, and in 18 minutes turn around and hit the launch pad, killing everybody there, including Zagorskin.
Hogan wants to change the outcome. Hogan, Carter, Newkirk, LeBeau, and Kinch get into Gestapo uniforms. Carter is to set off firecrackers to make it sound like some partisans are attacking. When they go off, Newkirk runs to the rocket and tells the real guards that are there to take off after the attackers. Klink, Schultz, and Hochstetter come to the scene and want to know what happened. After hearing some shooting, Klink says that he forgot his helmet and he runs away. Hochstetter sees him run off and says 'Bah!', and then runs after the guards who went after the attackers. Newkirk, in Gestapo uniform, is still by the rocket. Schultz starts talking with a guard, then realizes that it is Newkirk. Newkirk then points to LeBeau, also in Gestapo uniform; then to Kinch and Hogan working on the rocket, who are also in Gestapo uniform. Newkirk calls it 'old home week'. Schultz says that he knows nothing.
Later, in the rocket control room, Klink, Hogan, Marya, von Raucher, and some technicians start the countdown to launch the missile. Zagorskin launches the rocket; it leaves the pad briefly, falls, then blows up. Von Raucher is unhappy about the results. Hogan says 'Back to the old drawing board'.
At the end, Hogan, Marya, and von Raucher are sitting on the davenport in Klink's dining room; Klink and Schultz are also in the room. Hochstetter is there, and asks what happened. What happened to the Duke Of York? Nothing happened to the Duke Of York. Hochstetter is mad and calls all of them traitors. Hogan tells Hochstetter that Hochstetter developed a plan to cripple the Russian rocket program; Hochstetter did not realize he had one until Hogan told him. Hochstetter will send Zagorskin back to Russia to mess up the Russian rocket program. Hochstetter reluctantly concurs. Marya calls the plan 'sentational'; Hogan calls it 'adequate'.
