Trouble in the Henhouse.

Warning: Spoilers
It's Autumn Week on Fool Time as Tim and Al show the audience effective ways of removing leaves from your yard. Ever since they outlawed leaf burning, different methods have been recommended. Such as a Binford 6100 blower, including one that not only vacuums up the leaves, but mulches them at the same time. Always the thinker, Tim wonders if the same method can be applied for sucking the leaves right off the trees. In fact, he's built such a contraption: a leaf blower, powered by a VW engine and a surplus weather balloon for a bag attachment. He fires it up and successfully removes all the fake leaves from the prop trees on set. No fuss, no foul. However, when Tim decides to give Al a playful nudge with the nozzle, it sucks the clothes right off of him. Not his underwear, as it's a family show. At home, Jill is anticipating a visit from her sisters to help her plan their parents' 50th anniversary shindig, but she isn't really looking forward to it, mostly because when they get together, all they do is argue. On the plus side, Tim gets to use this an excuse to camp in the backyard with the boys. He's gathered everything a manly man needs to get back with nature: an enormous tent with cable TV and even a portable toilet! Randy decides to use the one in the house, thus subjecting himself to numerous cheek pinches from his aunts, Linda, Tracy and Carrie. Robin couldn't make it.

Jill's sisters are your average, middle-aged (for women, 40s pretty much is middle age) self-conscious, chatty females who talk about their diets, and their men and how they despise them. Turns out Tracy was sleeping with Linda's man on the sly. Jill knew, but she was sworn to secrecy...so of course she told Tim. Speaking of whom, after a scrumptious dinner of barbecued steaks, the men all hit the sack, but Tim's snoring prevented the boys from getting any sleep. Having heard it from all the way upstairs, Jill comes down to wake her very understanding mate to tell him about how she and her sisters can't agree on anything. He tells her to stand firm and lay down the law, so Jill decides to give them one more chance, and if things don't work out, she's gonna tell on them. Next morning, Jill begins things with a group hug, just as Tim comes in with a plate of Belgian waffles and breakfast meat, hot off the grill. The girls talk about where to get a decent caterer, and once again, they start fighting. Picking on each other, calling names, fighting like a bunch of children. It actually drives Jill right out of the house, prompting Tim to finally stand up and tell his sister in-laws what's what, and aptly takes away their breakfast sausages. Jill goes to the diner and runs into Wilson, who reports that he saw her sisters driving away in a cab. She tells him about the whole situation and he tells her, basically, if you can't beat'em, join'em...even though she already has. At home, Tim and the boys sort through the photo albums to make a nice commemoration for the golden anniversary. Jill comes home to a pleasant surprise. She gets an even bigger surprise when Tracy, Linda and Carrie suddenly come in the front door. They had gone to the florist, in a cab because Jill had the Nomad, they couldn't all fit in the Healy, and there was no way Tim was letting them take his Mustang. The women realized what horrible, bickering shrews they were and were now ready to start anew. Looks like it's back to the backyard for Tim and the boys. But at least they've found a solution to quell Tim's snoring: let him sleep under the stars.

Well, we meet three of Jill's four sisters...and they're about as tolerable as she is. One thing I hate, though, is how overprotective and defensive Jill gets about her family. Whether it's her mother visiting, her father, or her sisters, she jumps all over Tim whenever he tries to make a suggestion. Thankfully when he was finally able to speak this time, he did a whole world of good. This episode was pretty good. Being a fan of yard machines, I liked the opening Tool Time, as well as the men camping in the back. Might have been nice to see a scene of them all crowded in the tent for their own version of male bonding. My other favorite part is Tim standing up to those hens and telling them off. That was great. I definitely recommend Jill and Her Sisters. The women are extremely annoying, but I think it's worth putting up for when you see what this episode has to offer.
