Warning: Spoilers
Dr Corder looks at the curious case of Verity Clarke. A champion ice skater who gets injured and refuses to skate.

Corder and her trainer knows that she has got over her leg injury.

Something else is the cause for her refusal to skate. Her father is threatening to sue the coach for pushing her too far and ruining his daughter's career.

Well the lawsuit was pants. Corder speculates whether her father's financial problems might be part of a plan to help alleviate the family finances.

It just turns out that Verity blames herself for her parents constant rowing. They are on the verge of divorce but it is just the normal ups and downs of a relationship.

It was all pretty low stakes. I doubt any coach will touch Verity with a bargepole after this. They might not be able to afford a lawyer.

A quality episode.

Doctor Corder steps in to try to help young British skating Champion Verity Clarke, who, after dreaming of falling in a crack in the ice, trips over and refuses to skate again.

Yet another interesting, and frankly down right different episode, I am so impressed by the originality of this show. Once again, matters of psychology such as this I wouldn't associate with 1963, but here it is. The question we want answers to here, has Verity been pushed too far, has she been coerced, or has she just lost the love for her craft.

Once again we see the cleverness of Doctor Corder. Herbert Lom is perfect in the part.

Janina Faye had guest star status, and the child actress did a great job as Verity, for someone so young she was so convincing, a real sincerity to her performance.

George A. Cooper was certainly a prolific actor, one that turned his hand very easily to both drama and comedy, although it's his comedy roles I remember him for vividly, Steptoe and Son and Rising Damp.

Quality episode, 8/10.
