I just wrote and posted the synopsis for this; I seem to be the only one on this entire entry. Presumably people who watch THE HUNGER are vampires who are too busy at night sucking the blood of winsome young virgins (or pulling the wings off cockroaches) to bother submitting reviews for this ultra-weird late-night title. Fortunately, I don't have to brave the cold midnight hours anymore to get to this, as I own the entire series on DVD. This is a standout episode, from my RavenGlam viewpoint anyway, as it features the lovely Kim Feeney, and in a lesbian tryst to boot! First off, Kim Feeney is not only lovely, she is really, really cute. She can quite easily be mistaken here in "Skin Deep" for Jessalyn Gilsig, that pretty Canadian actress on NIP/TUCK, the one that kept calling Christian Troy 'assh*le', hey, now you know who I am talking about! But going into the Kim Feeney site on IMDb reveals, like, yuck! a Hulk Hogan movie? For crying out loud (uselessly, after all these years), what was wrong with Hollywood that they overlooked a pretty actress like this? She's got a MELROSE PLACE allure! Look at that scene where Lanie comes into the room, and Kat, aptly named, just awakened, lies kitten- cute with her head on the pillow.

Kate Vernon looks the spitting image of her Dad, the mysterious agent on ACAPULCO H.E.A.T. Unsettling beauty Sarain Boylan is indeed boiling up the screen as Roxanne, fortunately not sticking to that initial sheep wool hairstyle. She has a striking, dramatic face sort of like an eagle but a very glam eagle but mind you a kinda scary eagle nonetheless :) I'm sure she'd laugh out loud if she read this but unfortunately this is a dead-end street as far as IMDb entries go - THE HUNGER's fans are sleeping in their coffins.

Story concerns Catherine Delaney who wants to change her life, to upgrade her social life from its lowly score of only ever having been with two partners, one clearly a man, the other a same-sex relationship. At both of which she failed. Pardon me, miscast! Pretty girl like that would have had oodles of takers at the drop of a hankie, the bat of an eyelid, or simply for just breathing, come on, she is so pretty! To attract the attention of Roxanne, she'd go as far as to have her body besmirched by that hairy-armed tattooist (why pretty young things who normally wouldn't give the time of day to creeps are so in awe of this s-h-*-t I just cannot fathom. Dumb bunnies? Hey, pardon my French back there, but see it as RavenGlamDVDCollector's contribution towards cleaning up this planet, my pet hate is the filthy scum who leave their dirty marks on young flesh (think where those needles have been) AND I JUST HAD TO POST A NEUTRAL-TONED SYNOPSIS and was dying to Yell This Out Loud And Clear! so now I feel a little bit better about this Nasty Old World :)

Anyhow, Cat gets all ga-ga about Roxanne, the dancer at the club, who is so out of her league (miscast! Kim's cute enough to match Roxanne) that she has to hire her, despite being warned that there'd be no rules, and only pain. And then it results in a wild display of body parts in the corridor and on the red silk sheets. Lovemaking on film that is quite unlike the average porno. They're kinda like cats. Even people who are put off by sex on film might agree that this was Gloriously Done. There is very little actual Objectionable Display, it's by porn standards, Very Tame, with a few nipple shots, of course, but In Very Good Taste. I'm telling you this as I am trying to encourage all to take a peek as well. Dark and moody and with a macabre ending in the spirit of THE HUNGER.
