During the filming of this episode, Jerry Hausner and Desi Arnaz got into an argument on the set. Hausner quit the show and never appeared on the series again. His character, Jerry the agent, disappeared without explanation.
When magazine writer Eleanor Harris (Joan Banks) is taking photographs of Ricky and Lucy, she prepares her camera in a way that may surprise 'modern' viewers - she moistens the metal end of each flashbulb by putting it in her mouth. This was done to coat the metal contact on the bulb with saliva, and ensure the electrical conductivity between the camera and the bulb.
Of the three women in the hall who receive a Tropicana invitation, the one who plays Minnie Finch is actress Kathryn Card. In later episodes Kathryn Card plays Lucy's mother Mrs McGillicuddy. Both of the other actresses, Hazel Boyne and Elvia Allman also appeared as different characters in other episodes. For example, Hazel 'Sunny' Boyne was Maggie, the dancing cleaning woman, in Men Are Messy (1951), and Elvia Allman was the candy factory boss ("Speed it up a little") in Job Switching (1952).
Vivian Vance (Ethel Mertz) comes to return Lucy's half and half. When she enters from the side door of the apartment, the viewer can see William Frawley (Fred Mertz) getting into position to enter the scene moments later when Ethel (Vivian Vance) closes the door.
When Lucy tells Minnie she is taking a survey, Minnie asks Lucy if her name is Kinsey. This refers to Dr. Alfred Kinsey, who published his report on male sexuality in 1948, and the follow-up report on female sexuality in 1953, about the time this episode was filmed. The reports were based on surveys of thousands of subjects.
