Warning: Spoilers
To try and get Ernie Ford to leave Lucy pretends they are broke but that backfires too. How it would work is puzzling though as he doesn't have the money to get home. He takes up a collection for his dear friends: cousins the Ricardo's. Ricky apparently storms out and Ethel and Lucy are fearful he might come home angrier. Lucy return all the money and realizes the small amount left came from Ernie. As she tells Ethel she won't even try to get rid of him over the years they may even adopt him! Ricky comes home happy and smiling. He too is touched by Ernie's sweet nature. Ernie comes home and has a way to solve everything they appear on a show as a singing group and the money will help them all out including getting Ernie back home. They all agree. It seems either Ernie is ready to leave or maybe feels he could be outstaying his welcome. But good feelings between them all is intact.

Lucy, Ricky, Ethel, Fred and Ernie all appear on is the highlight of this fun two part episode.

Ricky lost his J O B

It's hilarious to me that Lucy spells out JOB and Ernie couldn't figure it out. Lucy pretending to be poor is good, it was repeated in season 1 with the matchmaking episode but in this case it's funny, my opinion. And the last part is enjoyable to watch all 5 do a number.

Lacking logic

Warning: Spoilers
Lucy pretends they are broke and can't afford Ernie anymore. Not only does this backfire but it makes no sense.

They even plant a bus ticket for Ernie to find because he doesn't have the money to get back to his hometown Bent Fork Tennessee. How does this make sense? It doesn't. I know we can't apply typical logic but it's kind of ridiculous here plot wise I guess they didn't consider that.

The highlight is when they all appear on a tv show that promises two hundred dollars which pays his bus ticket back home and plenty left over.

It's one of those things where you really do like your houseguests but you grow weary of them. But they really are fond of Ernie it's so cute when Ricky walks in says " hi cousin " to Ernie and Ernie says " hi amigo " . They really are picking up the other's way of thinking and talking.

My title, for this show's 2-part program is "The Naive Native", Part 2 of 2.

As I promised, (in Tennessee Ernie Visits & Part 1 of 2) I will leave a comment here, on its conclusion & second half. My favorite parts of "Tennessee Hangs On", are when Ricky Ricardo bought a bus ticket to Bent Fork, Tennessee, and Lucy got Ernie to find it, Ernie then apparently gave it to a total stranger, in which caused "Ricky Ricardo" to weep, about his attempted trick, and it BACKFIRED! more than any other is the concluding song, when Tennessee Ernie Ford, Desi Arnaz, William Frawley, Vivian Vance & Lucille Ball sang together as a 5-part quintet and all five were very musical. This is the only time, that I know of that "Lucy Ricardo" was NOT OFF KEY! In Sincerest Honesty. 63x927is58401.
