Even through this was the last episode of I Love Lucy (1951), it ended with the announcement "Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz will be back next week". However it was about 6 months before the first The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour (1957) starting broadcasting.
Before the dedication ceremony begins, Ethel is tending to a little boy. In reality, the little boy is Desi Arnaz Jr., Lucy and Desi's only son. Next to Desi Jr. was not his real-life and elder sister, Lucie Arnaz, that was originally claimed and believed to be.
During the introduction and each commercial break and the exiting music, musical conductor, Wilbur Hatch made sure that "Yankee Doodle Dandy", was added, to the series' original background music. In the series finale, The Ricardos Dedicate a Statue (1957), some members', (all directed by Wilbur Hatch, as some band members played "Yankee Doodle Dandy", the others played the original music, Wilbur Hatch composed, himself).
Final appearance of Fred the dog. He will not appear (or be mentioned) in any episodes of the sequel series, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.
