All he has
bkoganbing30 September 2020
Pruitt Taylor Vance devotes his whole life and soul to his job as an elementary school teacher. He's forty something and unmarried and live alone since his parents died. The job is all he has.

So when one of his kid accuse him of sexual molestation it cuts real deep. It's an accusation where you're guilty till proven innocent. Vance gets very unpopular fast in Sparta.

Carroll O'Connor personally investigates this one. It all takes a toll on Vance, because if he can't teach he has nothing.

Nice performance by Pruitt Taylor Vance tops this episode,

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my favorite episodes of the series even though it's one of the saddest. A young boy falsely accuses(with a little guessing/assuming by his father) a teacher of molesting him. Thus is the beginning of the end for this socially awkward teacher, who has a hard time socializing with adults but loves kids. His reputation becomes tarnished, the newspapers run rampant with the lie, not caring if it is indeed true, just to have sensationalized headlines. Though his name is cleared, the damage is done. His life ends as he feels he has nothing to live for. This story sounds so familiar to a certain real life situation.
