This is the first time Ghost Rider got a non-cameo appearance in the Marvel Animated Universe. Ghost Rider's first appearance was a quick cameo in "X-Men (1992)" as an image as Professor X was going though Gambit's mind in "The Final Decision (1993)" and Second, Ghost Rider had a minor role in a "Fantastic Four: The Animated Series (1994)" episode When Calls Galactus (1995) in which he was also voiced by Richard Grieco. The latter mentioned appearance and this one were backdoor pilots to get a "Ghost Rider" series on UPN, but the network decided to pass on making a "Ghost Rider" series.
This is the first time in the Marvel Animated Universe that Ghost Rider's human form is shown. Though unnamed in this series and his prior Marvel Animated Universe appearances, this Ghost Rider appears to be the Daniel Ketch version of the character based on his appearance and actions, rather than the original Ghost Rider in the comics Johnny Blaze. At the time of this episode's production, Daniel Ketch was the current Ghost Rider in the comics.
Ghost Rider's talk about innocent blood implies that someone died in the small town at the beginning during Hulk's rampage.
Sister Rose hums a few bars of "Amazing Grace" before her pot overheats and explodes.
The nun's name is not mentioned in the episode, but the credits list her as Rose Erak.
