The Conway Case
From the secret files of the William J Burns detective agency. Maybe these stories are based on actual events.
International Detective was a British made crime series made for the American television market.
Howard Conway (Andre Morell) is a veteran conman who has escaped prison. He is helped by his brother, Revered Orval Conway, a priest who always makes excuses for Howard. Such as that his brother suffers from mental illness that makes him steal.
Forging cheques and charming people around him is Conway's speciality. After his latest escapade, Ken Franklin (Art Fleming) is brought in. He is tracked down to Rome, where Conway is up to his usual tricks.
This is not a very good first episode. It is too silly and frivolous. That priest needed locking up. Morell is the standout as the charming conman.
There was not that much for Fleming to do in the opener and he is the star of the show.
