Better Casting Would Have Been Nice

Nancy's rival sister Gloria visits after being left by her husband Teddy -- who was Nancy's high school sweetheart until Gloria stole him away. Now Gloria has her eye on Howard and literally falls into his arms.

I didn't like the casting of Gloria. The actress reminded me of Lana from THREE'S COMPANY but wasn't funny like Ann Wedgeworth. This show didn't get as many big names for the roles of relatives like THE GOLDEN GIRLS did. Too bad they didn't have a bigger casting budget - Carrie Nye would have been awesome as Nancy's sister.

We learn that Ginger makes her own clothes, but the character is still not developed enough.

Amy tells a story about back home in Snyder. These are similar to Rose Nyland's St. Olaf stories but are never as funny. The writing on this show always falls short in comparison to THE GOLDEN GIRLS.

In a small subplot, Dot is serving a table of recovering sufferers of acrophobia. Gail Edwards is delightful in this scene as she always makes Dot so animated whenever the character gets to "act" something out for other characters.

Biggest laugh comes when Teddy returns for Gloria and says "I've made a terrible mistake. Can you ever forgive me?," Nancy thinks he's apologizing to her.

This one has an unusual ending for an episode, with Nancy alone at the piano, singing "My Way."
