Amy and Ginger are Roommates
kgraovac12 November 2023
Amy and Ginger become roommates when the latter takes advice from Jan and ends up getting evicted from her apartment. When the landlady catches Ginger's date despite the No Men Allowed rule in Amy's building, both girls are thrown out.

An average episode but not outstanding. It does set up the new plot device of Amy and Ginger being roommates but there is no funny conflict like there was back in Season 1 when Vicki had to move in with Cassie. The replacement waitresses in the syndicated era just don't have the same comedic appeal and certainly lack the heart of their predecessors. IMO, they are like the Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts of this show, or the Diane Ladd and Celia Weston - nothing beats the originals.

There is a joke about sexual harassment spoken by one of Amy's neighbors that would likely not go over well today: "The boss is hitting on everyone but me".

When Amy and Ginger sing "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" they actually sound quite good together.

Patty Duke has a cameo in this episode after Sonny is seen performing the theme song from her 1960s sitcom.
