Harmless silly fun !
ronnybee211230 August 2021
I have only seen maybe 3 episodes of this show, total. It was indeed on tv for 6 seasons, but I never watched much tv during that time-period. So it is basically new to me. (This is a random episode I just so happened to catch on the 4.2 broadcast channel in SF,California on Sunday nights at 9 and 9:30 pm. They seem to be playing the episodes in proper order which is nice) Anyway, this episode is light humor, silly jokes, some cute wisecracking waitress girls,a mean/neurotic lady boss,a straight-talking,no nonsense cook, and a piano player that is both a ham and a cornball comedian.

It all moves along nicely, there are no dead spots etc. This episode was from the end of the 4th season so they had the show nailed down pretty tight by this show's time.

All in all,a lightweight but fun episode I liked!

Nancy as One of the Girls? I'm In!
kgraovac13 November 2023
A small group of island natives show up claiming Howard as their leader, The Holy One; Nancy and Dot face off to see who's the better waitress; Sonny is thinking of getting an earring.

The A-story here is quite a silly one with the Howies (as his worshippers are called) offering up a virgin sacrifice so they will have an heir to Howard's title. Of course, Nancy offers herself up instead.

The highlight of the episode is the Tip-Off where Nancy challenges one of the waitresses to see who can score the most tips in one evening. A great moment when Dot asserts, "She's MINE! I wanna bury her!". The contest begins with a slow-motion start backed by the "Chariots of Fire'" theme followed by a fast-motion montage of Nancy killing it with the IT'S A LIVING theme song playing underneath the scene. Fun stuff!

Some funny parts are when Dot admits she bought one of those old bust developers as a teenager; and Sonny getting the wrong ear pierced and Amy telling him it's a mark of gayness.

The script mentions Ginger being the new girl.
