Generally a good episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The writers seem to be good at writing Christmas episodes. Coates needs to relax a little like the admiral said. She's gets overeager alot. Harm is a good man but I hope Mac does better than him. He throws jabs at her a lot. With things from her past. Unnecessarily. And then comes back when he needs her. So annoying. I like Sturgis and hope he and this new interest work out.

Generally a good episode

Made me cry!

Maybe you would not entirely agree with me when I say that this is one of the best JAG episodes or one of the best episodes I've seen. But when you're a guy like me watching only garbage on TV for a long time and then an episode like this comes up, it's gold for you trust me! Shame this show is criminaly underrated from the main title on imdb to each episode being no higher than... ahmm... 8,9? Really?

This is my first review of any episode of JAG. And this show until now was a show I'd watch when I wouldn't have anything better to watch. But season 8 and 9 just totally changed that and with some perfect episodes this became one of the finest shows I've ever watched simply of the reasons I'll be mentioning:

Acting: The acting, although this show is very serialized, is always and was always excellent. Not exagerated for Emmy or Globe accolades nor over-acting like the usual main-stream shows in the last years (2018-2020).

The story: This is one aspect that was always in danger because of the serialized manner in which this show is made. But the story here is expertly crafted even from the beginning of the season and some threads and side-plots are payed off in this episode in a dramatic, surprizing manner that literally made me cry at some points.

The music just as always is perfect and suited for the scenes. Not overly expressed but at the same time not hidden to the point it doesn't almost counts.

The message: For a guy who is bombarded in this era with shows about propaganda and political messages instead of moral principles, this show is exactly what I miss about this time's shows. Message about God, moral, responsability and friendship. Where are these values right now in today's shows? No wonder the world is how it is...

I am always curious about an episode in which there isn't a case, because this is the show's core. But this episode floored me. The storytelling the new things that happened and the dramatic twist plus the pay offs were incredible and just elevated this episode to one of the best I've seen in JAG and in any show. God I miss this sort of television today!
