Really good!

This episode was very well done. The end is everything! It's making me want to start NCIS again. Also, I noticed a certain usually negative reviewer doesn't have any comments for this episode. Wonder why

the first batch of NCIS

if you like the show, NCIS then this is one of two episodes featuring the mainstay of characters from NCIS (Gibbs, Dinozo, ABby and Ducky.) it show show they handle their operations when working with JAG. from these two episodes, you basically get the idea and tie in very nicely with the first episode of NCIS. after all if you know your TV from days back you know how they used to do the "spinoffs". i assure you this is done with far more taste. just remember this episode is a two parter and gos with jag episode "meltdown". it is judged that about a month after meltdown, you would get season one of NCIS.(of course the producer and creator of both shows isthe same guy.--- and of course the JAGcharacter "Bud" appears in an early episode of NCIS.

Not an equal treatment

For an NCIS episode this may be alright but for a JAG episode this is sub par. The NCIS plot completely shoves the JAG cast aside and in order to service the NCIS cast they make Rabb look weak in comparison. After all these years following Rabb it really shows a sense of disloyalty from the creators.

You can tell this is a backdoor pilot in only the loosest sense as everything including the title fonts are full on NCIS, skipping even the JAG titles.

A proper cross over or backdoor pilot gives credit to the new characters but also reinforces the current cast to place everyone in a good light. That just doesn't happen here. I can only say this is 4/10 for a JAG episode, if that.
