Warning: Spoilers
No More Tears, both the title of this Fireside theater episode and for the Ivory soap which is the sponsor of the show. So you did Jane Wyman and some very campy soap commercials, and it's a fun dramatic episode where she plays a woman suffering from amnesia. Most of her acting comes through her eyes and the voices in her head, and she begins to somehow jog her memory by riding around in a taxi. It turns out that she has a husband oh, but the mystery becomes why she has lost her memory. It's a good acting exercise for Wyman who makes the most of the short running time to let you get to know her character. Just entering a room in her home begins to jog her memory, and it's obvious that her memory loss only occurred a short time before and it's obvious that she's blocking something she doesn't want to face. Even though she was a mature actress, Jane Wyman was hot stuff at this time in the mid-1950's, with several successful musicals (introducing an Academy Award winning song!) and two soap operas with Rock Hudson very popular. This is an episode where the emotion builds, and Wyman gets to go from confusion to joy to sadness. Very well written, with some really shocking moments that are jaw-dropping.

Lady in distress
searchanddestroy-11 April 2020
Jane Wyman plays here a woman who waits in a railway station waiting room and who doesn't know who she is and where she comes from; so this topic is about her finding what she seeks for. Pure melodrama for home audiences, where we find the exact same atmosphere, sometimes gloomy sometimes jazzy, that we have in classic long time features. But Sid Landfield - whose master piece was HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLE though being mostly a comedy and musical film director, was already an old timer in the game.
