- Marshal Spence Patterson: I heard you were wearin' a badge, Ringo. Looks good on you.
- Johnny Ringo: And it feels good, too.
- Marshal Spence Patterson: I know what you mean, but after twenty years, this piece of tin gets mighty heavy.
- Johnny Ringo: You're still man enough to pack the weight.
- William 'Cully' Charles Jr., Deputy: Just driftin' through, Marshal?
- Marshal Spence Patterson: No, as a matter of fact, I'm here on business. Ringo, I've come to arrest you for murder.
- Mills Walker: The name's Mills Walker. Welcome to Hangman's Heaven.
- Johnny Ringo: If this is heaven, they sent me to the wrong place.
- Johnny Ringo: Something go wrong on that bank job?
- Gordie Fields: Yeah. We got caught.
- Johnny Ringo: You probably didn't have it figured out right.
- Gordie Fields: Well, you can't win all the time, I guess.
- Johnny Ringo: When there's a murder involved you can't afford to lose one.
- Gordie Fields: Nothing beats the smell of good, clean air.
- Mills Walker: Yeah, it would be fine if I got the stench of the law out of my nose.
- [Marshal Patterson breaks up a brawl in the jail's exercise yard and orders the prisoners returned to their cells]
- Marshal Spence Patterson: Animals like these don't belong in the sun. Take 'em back to their cage!
- Mills Walker: Any of you fellows ever hear of a town called Velardi?
- Lon McClinton: I've never heard of it.
- Mills Walker: That's too bad. I have - it's a good place to stay away from. Right before we joined up together, I rode twenty miles out of my way just to stay clear of the city limits.
- Gordie Fields: What's wrong? The town have the pox or something?
- Mills Walker: Nope. It had a sheriff - still has. His name's Johnny Ringo.
- Johnny Ringo: What did you hit me with?
- Marshal Spence Patterson: A shotgun.
- Johnny Ringo: Oof! From the way my head feels, you must have pulled the trigger.
- [Walker's gang has managed to break out of jail]
- Gordie Fields: Them folks in Dixon City are sure going to be disappointed when they find out there ain't goin' to be a hangin'.
- Lon McClinton: Aw, maybe they'll string up the marshal as a substitute.
- Mills Walker: If I was sure of that happening, maybe I'd go back.
- Lon McClinton: [smelling a wad of money] Mmm! Man, that sure smells good!
- Mills Walker: That's 'cause it's green and fresh.
- Mills Walker: What about you, Ringo? You want a share, too?
- Johnny Ringo: You're bein' kinda generous, aren't you?
- Mills Walker: I believe in giving a man what he deserves - in your case, a bullet, Sheriff.
