A very clever mystery.
Sleepin_Dragon25 April 2020
How on Earth can someone suspected of murder, the plastic fantastic Zola Zbzewski, end up dead in Maddy's new wardrobe.

It's a very clever episode, plastic surgery is as contentious an issue now as it was back then, it makes for a great story, a 1997 retelling of Frankenstein. It's a complex mystery, but it's tight, such is the writing, that all of the events and occurrences are perfectly feasible. The solution comes as a surprise, but it's great.

Kika Mirylees is excellent as Zola Zbzewski, she's very smart, and it's her acting and appearance that are key to the success of the episode. An actress I always associate with Bad Girls.

Very good, 8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Maddy is on her usual fine form masquerading as an investigative journalist, advertising herself as a solver of bizarre and unusual cases.

She gets off on being, The Genius Mind single handedly cracking impossible conundrums.

She milks all of the publicity being an unrepentant media , and always intends to garner all of the kudos.

However whenever matters unexpectedly goes pear shaped she invariably relies on Jonathan, to either help her crack the case or to save her worthless hide.

In her usual manipulative manner Maddy invariably expects Johnathan, to be at her every beck and call regardless of anything he may be involved in.

Johnathan is a gooseberry on a date with Maddy and her 'hunk' that she met via a contact mag. Her date is wonderfully played by Nigel Planer (among other appearances he's Neil the hippy in the TV sitcom The Young Ones)

NOT a plot hole
jacki-1514 October 2016
The previous reviewer claims a plot hole about the lift. He says that the delivery men run away after Maddie tells them that there is no lift to the fourth floor flat.

Maddie doesn't say (to the delivery men) there is no lift, she says the wardrobe won't fit in the lift.

This is why Maddie and Shelford are struggling to get the wardrobe up the stairs giving Zola plenty of time to take the lift and avoid them.

There are quite often areas of uncertainty in these episodes however this isn't one of them.

Always a good idea to re-watch an episode if you are going to make disparaging comments like this.
