- Judge Deed begins hearing the case of Diana Hulsey, the mobile phone user who is suing her service provider for contributing to a brain tumor she has now developed. The CEO of the telecoms firm is outraged that her court action has gone this far and is pressuring the government and especially the Lord Chancellor's Department, to get Judge Deed under control. He also makes it quite clear that if they cannot do so, he is prepared to take matters into his own hands. When judge Deed finds that someone has put child pornography on his laptop computer, he knows who must be responsible but also realizes that it is exactly the kind of reputation-destroying information that could see him put off the Bench.—garykmcd
- Judge John Deed finds a way to get rid of the child pornography that has been put on his computer, by using one of the witnesses in the case, Josh Arditta, (San Shella),. It is completed just in time as Sir Ian pushes into the room to take the computer, only to find it is now clean, and Deed is burning a computer hard drive with a cigarette lighter. The complainant in the case dies suddenly, and her son, Michael, is taken by social services. Joe Mills is agonising about adopting him, and talks it over with Deed, who is against it, until suddenly he wonders if Michael might like a dog. Joe mills is walking away, and starts to smile when she hears Deed's comment about the dog.
