In this episode, there was no possiblity of Julia being "blacklisted." It was a matter of when she would receive security clearance at her job. Although I was initially impressed with "Julia" and Diahann Carroll's performance, I quickly noticed a tendency to inject political and racial issues into the episodes. In this episode, there was no evidence that Julia's limited security status had anything to do with race. However, the episode plays as though Julia is being subjected to some form of discrimination. Not the best way to go. If it was necessary to raise a social issue, it should have been based on something credible. It's only implied that the security situation has a racial component. Also, everyone dances around the suspected issue. Nobody comes out and says what's on their mind. Then, the episode ends on a very upbeat note. The last scene is great, however. Diahann gets very sexy, when she allows her young son (and his friend) to see her wearing only a slip. I loved it! My rating would have been lower, if not for this scene. For a sitcom in 1968, this had to be "pushing the envelope" a little. So glad that they took that chance! An episode with a somewhat unappealing dynamic ended in a beautiful, sexy way.
