Detective Chief Inspector Jim Logan has always been supportive of Inspector Jean Darblay. He now wants to ask for a favour.
Carole Lund was nearly rammed down by her boyfriend, a notorious gangster that Logan has been after for some time.
He wants Darblay to keep Lund safe until the trial. Logan is convinced that he has a watertight case.
Darblay agrees but finds that Lund is a handful, like she is not taking being in protection seriously enough. Like she is not afraid of her ruthless boyfriend that she plans to give evidence against him.
Inspector Jean Darblay and Sergeant Beck smell a rat.
An effective enough episode with doubts cast on Logan that he might be fitting up a suspect. I did feel it was stretched, where Darblay has to put up with Lund's mischievous behaviour without twigging much much later that the police may be being played.
