First appearance of K.I.T.T.'s Auto Currency Dispenser function which enables him to supply Michael with cash from the Foundation's bank account.
Michael states he originally met Maxine Fleming on the "Grimaldi case" the previous year - an in-joke reference to producer Gino Grimaldi (just as the aforementioned horse 'Foster's Folly' is a reference to executive producer Robert Foster).
In the original William Elliott script, Maxine's horse King Jack was named Knightrider. He's a three-year-old colt with a reddish blaze on his forehead.
The first draft features a young girl named Bobbi Gabriel, who tends to Knightrider/King Jack after he bolts away from Tommy Lee and Doc Thorpe. She would unwittingly return the horse to Doc Thorpe herself, and also lead Michael to the villains.
K.I.T.T.'s picks at the races: Taylor's Goose, in the 4th; Baltimore Ned and Flying Fenwick in the Daily Double and Cassie's Gold in the fourth at Pimlico. His lucky streak runs out with Foster's Folly.
