Britain's most famous Ladykiller.

Ruth Ellis is very probably the most famous 'Ladykiller' from Britain, famous for being the last woman hanged, but her case was infamous during her trial, and many years after, still very famous. Lucky, Lucky Thirteen came five years before Miranda Richardson would give an incredible performance as Ellis in Dance with a Stranger, but here Georgina Hale plays her, very well for my money. Infamous for the murder of David Blakely, Ellis is portrayed here as a somewhat curious character, ready to accept her fate, without offering any defence. Hale certainly looks the part of Ellis, her hair in particular spot on. I like the production of this episode, it's not slow, it offers an insight into her crime and motivation, and is of course interesting because of the subject matter. Well acted all round, Hale is very good, as are Edward Hardwicke and Bernard Horsfall.

I can imagine someone seeing Dance with a Stranger being a little disappointed here, but for what it's worth I liked it, very good. 8/10
