The stage line is expanding and needs horses but they are competing with the Army for stock. Mr. Creighton from the stage line says they will pay $100 per horse and a $20 premium if the horse is available by July 1. Slim Sherman and Jess Harper hope to capitalize on the premium the stage company is offering to make the payment on the ranch. Jess suggests they buy stock from Sam Bronson in Colorado to sell to the stage line as he is trying to sell horses and dislikes the Army. Jess, who cheats on the coin toss with Slim to decide who goes, gets more than he bargained for on the trip. When Jess arrives at Sam's ranch, he is fighting with Sandy Kayle who he fired. Jess breaks up the fight showing respect for both men. Sam Bronson's runaway daughter Celie, horse thieves and the two-timing murdering Romeo Sandy are what's in store for him as he tries to get the horses back to Laramie by the July 1st deadline to collect the bonus. Jess Harper is on a horse buying trip and he's buying horses from the irascible Harold J. Stone. Stone's irascible in general but he's really particular about his little sugarplum daughter Gigi Perreau.
It seems as though his daughter is being given unwanted attentions by young hired hand Robert Vaughn. As he's firing Vaughn, Robert Fuller arrives. Later on Vaughn saves Fuller from an ambush by horse thieves led by L.Q. Jones.
Vaughn until he did The Magnificent Seven played a lot of callow youths. His however is a most ill defined character. I was never quite sure of what to make of him even as the program ended.
Not sure what I saw in this Laramie story.
