Diplomatic immunity protects a diplomat from prosecution of minor violations of the law like traffic laws and controlled substance laws. It does not, nor was it ever intended to, shield a diplomat from prosecution for serious felonies.
The Romanian diplomat tells Benson and Stabler that orchids are parasitic, often consuming the host plant. This is not true; not a single orchid species is parasitic. In fact, they often benefit from their host plant without harming it at all.
