- Beaver helps out June by going around the neighborhood collecting money for the Community Chest. After he loses the money, Ward gets him to go back to all the people and find out how much they gave so he can pay it back. Beaver is surprised at the reactions he gets.—Ronny Bailey
- Since Wally reminds June at the last minute that she is supposed to attend a mother's only open house at the school, Beaver volunteers to do the task she had scheduled for the day, which is to go door to door and collect money for the community chest fund. After some convincing by Ward and Wally, June lets Beaver do it. He takes Gilbert along with him. Although things start off shakily for the pair, they begin to collect a lot of money from people happy to donate. But the day ends off badly when Beaver loses the can of money. After Wally convinces Beaver that it is better for him to confess to his parents than skirt the issue or lie, Beaver does tell his parents. Although his parents are disappointed, Ward comes up with what both he and Beaver believe is an equitable scheme to replace the money which makes Beaver retrace his steps, but not specifically to look for the can of money. A Cleaver will have to do a third figurative trek through the neighborhood before the situation is finally resolved.—Huggo
