- The men of the west were always excited when beauty came to them as was the case with the actress Cora Campbell. She arrives with men swarming the station including silversmith Tom Tanner. When Tom introduces himself to her by picking up her handkerchief, gunman Clay Bronson attacks Tom but Earp breaks up the conflict. Earp tells Clay that he must check his guns if he stays in Dodge City. Later when Tom asks to walk Cora, she is busy but agrees to supper that evening. Later Cora's maid Mrs. Calloway drops into Earp's office asking to keep Tom away from Cora for his safety. Earp can do little but he visits Cora to ask her to turn Tom away for his safety. Tom arrives with a gift but she tells him to leave. Tom realizes that Earp is trying to stop a fight between him and Clay. Later Shotgun finds Tom beaten up in an alley. Tom says Clay did it. Dr. McCarty arrives later with the body of Clay who was stabbed with a silver letter opener. Earp arrests Tom who confesses to it but Earp's suspicions lie elsewhere as surprises are in store for all.—Anonymous
