Terrance Dicks admitted on a Doctor Who DVD release that he and Doctor Who script editor Robert Holmes faked an argument over a script, knowing it would be filmed as part of the program. He now finds it embarrassing to watch.
The was the first in-depth documentary to be made about Doctor Who, which had been transmitted on the BBC for over 13 years.
Several of the clips starring Jon Pertwee as the Doctor are in black-and-white despite being originally produced in colour because the BBC had wiped the original master tapes and was still in the process of destroying old Doctor Who episodes when the documentary was transmitted.
