Veronica, usually so saavy, is told that a prince can lead her to her parents in a place called El Dorado. She falls for it and goes with him. Once the prince has her alone he turns into a giant and tries to rape her.
After such good episodes as Stone Cold and London Calling this episode was pretty dumb. This series never made any concessions to 1920s language but this time it's given over to 1990s language and attitudes to a ridiculous extent.
Some of the effects aren't bad. But the dialogue is so modern and, on top of that, silly (perhaps to take the edge off the horror of an attempted sexual assault) it's almost an affront to the viewer.
Scattered shots are very good, especially a devastated Veronica crouched in the rising elevator. It's one of the series' most heartbreaking moments.
