Sisters Out of Control!
WalterKafka22 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
'I know this is a cruise ship and life isn't real here.' What's with the fat mermaid statue? Actually, this episode should be called 'Gopher drops his towel.' Jaye P Morgan and Joanna Cassidy are sisters who like to take cruises. I know the former from The Gong Show, the latter from Blade Runner. Now Joanna is married. That certainly changes things. 'If my husband would let himself go, I'd help him pack.' Maybe hubby could loosen up. Is that what people did in the 70s - 'loosened up'? A widow meets her florist on board. She tells Gopher a story of how her husband had a habit of sending her roses. Don Ameche plays the florist. Julie's singer has canceled. What's she going to do? Ask Gopher to sing! Gopher wears a pink jacket and sings 'Mack the Knife.' When it goes well, he gets a big head. Patti Davis appears as a 'Gopher Groupie.' Her dad was about to be elected President, ya know. It's Wednesday morning, but I'm in a good mood. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this episode gets 3 * out of a possible 4 *.
