The Acid Man
kapelusznik183 September 2014
***SPOILERS*** When popular Chicago theater actress Laura Dennis,Elaine Edwards, was threatened by an unknown assailant to have her face messed up with a bottle of acid it was Let. Det. Frank Ballinger, Lee Marvin, who got into the act of preventing that from happening. It turned out that the person who threatened Laura was real estate swindler and speculator Ernie Roper, Stewart Bradley, who wanted her boyfriend Sam Harding, Jim Bannon, the owner of the famous Chicago Royal Theater to sell him the place from pennies on the dollar. Roper plans to make a mint,$250,000.00 or 2.75 million in 2014 dollars, on the deal by having it turned into a high-rise luxury condo. It turned out that Laura's good friend and manager Jerry Stewart, Donald Buka, was involved in this underhanded scheme by having Roper blackmail him in exposing some of his shady dealings in the entertainment industry.

Ballinger after having Laura put under around the clock police protection get's Stewart to lose his nerve and start having second thoughts in what he got himself involved, Murder & blackmail, when the night watchman of the theater Mike, Robert Gibbons, was gunned down by Roper when he got a bit suspicious in noticing the doors in the theater unlocked after he locked them! That has "Acid Man" Roper sneak in and threaten to mess up Laura's pretty face.

****SPOILERS**** With Roper now trying to stop Stewart from talking he has him shot in his office only to make things that much worse for him. A marked man in being identified as the notorious "Acid Man", as well as murderer of both Stewart & night watchman Mike, of Chicago Roper is soon trapped on a catwalk of the Royal Theater where after shooting and wounding Ballinger's boss Capt. Grey, Paul Newlan, and then daring Ballinger to duke it out with him Roper gets his head handed to him by Ballinger with a few choice judo & karate chops to the head body & neck!
