General Steele has a habit of quoting great military commanders. However, a number of the famous names he quotes: Marshall Foch, Hannibal, Cornwallis all presided over famous losses on the battlefield. Even when he quotes the legendary Hannibal he cites the Battle of Zama, which that Carthaginian general LOST at the end of the Second Punic War.
One of the rare occasions the laugh track is heard in the OR. However, it's only used while the camera is on Henry and Radar with their masks off, as Radar announces the winners of the model yacht race at the cesspool. As such, the laughter is only used when concerning non-medical humor and when surgery is not visible in the shot in any way.
With the announcement that McLean Stevenson was leaving the series, Harry Morgan was brought in to guest star in this show to see how he worked with the rest of the cast.
General Steele's volatility, constant citations of military history, and dangerous fearlessness can be seen as a satire of General George Patton.
This is the only episode in the series that Harry Morgan appears onscreen with McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers as both actors would leave the series prior to Harry joining the show. Harry Morgan would in fact be replacing McLean Stevenson as the new CO of the 4077th, Col. Sherman Potter, the following year.
