- The attempted theft of penicillin from the 4077th by a group of suspected black marketeers brings Col. Flagg to investigate.
- Three masked men try to steal penicillin from the 4077 supply shed; during gun play, one gets caught in Klinger's boa. The young man's tags read Cpl. Charles P. Perkins, but his voice says little. The 4077 poster boy for Crazy In Army (CIA) Colonel Flagg (Edward Winter) shows up, posing as a rabbi, Capt. Goldberg and wearing ridiculous glasses. Flagg tells Henry: "We don't joke in the CIA." But someone has a sense of the absurd. Radar finds out that Perkins was KIA, but Flagg demands to interrogate the young man, whoever he is. Flagg frees "Perkins," and inflicts several injuries to his own person. Flagg meant for the 4077 to believe he was ambushed and overtaken by "Perkins" but Trapper and Hawkeye are wise to the insanity that is Col. Flagg. The officers learn interesting facts about the dedication of their brothers in medicine, like Medic Johnson of the 415th Army Infantry. They also want to know how Flagg takes his coffee. Will it be one lump or two for the King of Pain?—LA-Lawyer
- Three masked men try to steal penicillin from the 4077 supply shed; during their escape, one runs into Klinger's who was on guard duty that night. Pretty soon, the entire unit wakes up and surrounds the thief. Father Mulcahy distracts the thief and he is captured by Klinger. The young man's tags read Cpl. Charles P. Perkins (Hilly Picks), but his voice says little. Trapper and Hawkeye know that there is a black market for penicillin in Korea and it sells for $50/vial. They tell Perkins that they use the penicillin in the hospital to save previous lives.
Radar finds out that Perkins was KIA about a month ago, but Flagg demands to interrogate the young man, whoever he is. He wants Perkins to be released into his custody by the same night. Hawkeye and Trapper refuse to release Perkins into Flagg's custody, knowing that he would torture the young man. Flagg frees "Perkins" by asking Frank to leave his tent (Frank was guarding Perkins that night) and then asks Perkins to leave the tent as well. Flagg then proceeds to inflict several injuries to his own person. Flagg meant for the 4077 to believe he was ambushed and overtaken by "Perkins" but Trapper and Hawkeye are wise to the insanity that is Col. Flagg. They know that his wounds are self-inflicted.
Henry gives a good chewing to Frank for leaving his post on the orders of Col Flagg, so that he could torture Perkins. Klinger gets Trapper and Hawkeye to accompany him to the supply tent as he thinks the thief is back. They wrestle in the dark only to find Col Flagg. Flagg says he steals the penicillin to barter for info from North Koreans. He argues that if he can get the right information from the Koreans, he can end the war a lot faster. He threatens Hawkeye not to stand in his, when he leaves with the penicillin the next morning. The MPs bring back Perkins to MASH 4077, and they learn that his real name is Johnson. The officers learn interesting facts about the dedication of their brothers in medicine, like Medic Johnson of the 415th Army Infantry. Johnson says he was only trying to steal the penicillin for his fellow soldiers at the front as the army wont provide them the amount they needed. In the past, he bought penicillin on the black market, but is now out of money. Henry lets him go.
Trapper and Hawkeye mix a abdomen cramping liquid in Flagg's coffee and tell him that he needs an appendix removal when he doubles down from pain. Trapper and Hawkeye perform the operation. While Flagg recovers in Post-op, the doctors hide the penicillin from Flagg and he has to leave empty handed.
