After a fascinating opening (where Murdoc, at his most delightful, returns to his career of trying to murder MacGyver) the story takes a turn for the worse and ventures into mundane territory of a woman hiding her daughter from her ex-husband.
MacGyver gets amnesia (again) and Murdoc arrives, taking MacGyver's place with the woman. The woman has obviously never seen a movie nor a TV show or she'd know the fellow who speaks in perfect, clipped English is the baddie.
Throughout his appearances Murdoc continually gets the drop on MacGyver, but Murdoc is such an artist of death he can't close the deal until he has some sort of Michelangelo of homicide set up. I suppose that's fine spread over seven years but when you binge on the shows as I do Murdoc's dilatory methods get a bit tiresome. I keep hoping he succeeds and the show gets called "Murdoc" but we know that's not going to happen.
Still, Murdoc's crazily overblown methods are always amusing (how does he set up such intricate traps so quickly? Any why doesn't he just shoot MacGyver when he has the chance? What is he waiting for, sharks with lasers on their heads?)
Overall good episode, if a trifle redundant.
