Aside from not really being very funny on it own, there is absolutely no explanation given as to why, when Uncle Phil decides to go back to school to get his high school diploma 63 years after dropping out, he goes to traditional high school rather than adult education, as would happen in the real world. There is also no explanation for why the school calls the adult Uncle Phil's nephew and his wife when he "acts up" in class. This episode is obviously just meant to be a vehicle to show off Mel Brooks, but didn't have great writing and really doesn't fit into the universe created by the rest of the series. Just another of many lackluster episodes in the show's final season.
