Snocker!

Warning: Spoilers
Magnum has a knack of pulling off really good season finales, and this is no exception. In fact, I always seem to prefer the season finales to the season openers. Go figure.

The story - a conman who faked his own death in order to abscond with millions is trying to get negatives from a photographer who has unwittingly taken a picture proving he's very much alive - is, to be honest, pretty thin. It's really just a framework to hang the comedy and action on. But those elements are done so well that I don't mind.

The lovely Cassie Yates is back, this time as a woman who's desperate to escape the shadow of her famous father by publishing her own book - on street signs! Her passion for the subject provides a great laugh, as does the reaction of others when they find out what she's working on. Thomas, in particular, can't repress his giggles. The interplay between Thomas and Shelley is the crux of the episode, and Selleck and Yates are both talented comedy actors who play very well off each other. Yates' facial expressions are especially amusing.

The other major elements of the episode are Higgins' determination to watch a recording of the great British game of snooker (while eating caviar on toast, no less!) which Thomas doesn't understand, and Agatha being the only one to be injured during the action sequences - twice. The poor dear ends up with two broken legs, despite not being actively involved, while Thomas and friends come out of car chases and firefights without a scratch on them. Where's the justice, I ask you. Where's the justice?

Rose Marie Barbee! stars as Kristin

Warning: Spoilers
Shelly Faraday is quite the irritating client in this episode of Magnum, P. I. that didn't quite have me on the edge of my seat. I think the writers needed to give Shelly a bit more emotions beyond the one-sided dimension that was offered on screen.

I loved the closing credits that listed Rose Marie Barbee! As Kristin. Yes the exclamation was part of Rose Marie Barbee's name in the credits.

Anyway, we learn that Higgins is a huge fan of snooker (not pool, not billiards) so we learn something new for any future fan fiction involving the characters of Magnum, P. I..

What else, well Agatha has a more prominent role in this, and she's in fact kidnapped.
